But when you get online to invite a friend, the same seat is now selling for 5x the price \u2014 not by the venue, not by the artist \u2014 but by someone who bought it just to flip it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s not capitalism. That\u2019s exploitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s no different from an airline ticket or a hotel reservation. And guess what? You can\u2019t resell your Delta seat for profit. Really? Have you seen the numbers?<\/p>\n\n\n\n * 60 people died at the Las Vegas Route 91 Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n * 22 were killed at the Manchester Arena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n * Dozens more at theaters and nightclubs around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Unregulated resale introduces chaos. Ticket screenshots get copied. Fake barcodes are sold to multiple people. Scalpers don\u2019t follow ID policies or transfer rules. When the original buyer isn’t the one walking in, **no one is accountable**. Security can’t verify anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If we treated concert tickets like airline tickets \u2014 no anonymous resale, no markups, ID-verified entry \u2014 we\u2019d be a hell of a lot safer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n —<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Current System is Rigged<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Ticket resale is no longer a guy in a trench coat outside the venue. It\u2019s a multi-billion-dollar industry powered by bots and hedge funds. A single scalper can buy up thousands of tickets in seconds, using software that regular fans can\u2019t compete with. The result? Inflated prices, frustrated fans, and zero benefit to the people actually creating or hosting the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Artists, venues, and fans all get screwed \u2014 while parasitic resellers make bank for doing nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n —<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Fix is Simple<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019m not saying you shouldn\u2019t be able to resell a ticket if your plans change. You should \u2014 but only **at face value** and **only through the original platform**.<\/p>\n\n\n\n No profit. No third-party sites. No screenshots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Just a fair and transparent way for someone else to take your place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Let the artist set the price. Let the venue control the security.
